Cognac Brown Shell Cordovan from the tannery Shinki Hikaku in Kobe, Japan, is one of the finest shell cordovan tanneries. Shell Cordovan is a membrane located in the rump area of a horse and is known to be one of the most durable leathers available.

Shinki Hikaku's 'Oil Cordovan' is their standard finish which gives the leather a very oily look with a slight pull-up effect. Compared to Italian and American shell cordovan, Shinki shell cordovan is more resistant to scratches and marks.
